Introduction
Kurdila (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a café in Baxtiari, Slemani, Kurdistan. This page explains how information is handled when you use kurdila.com.
The site is a public menu and house page. You can read it without creating an account. There is no customer login and no online shop. Club links on this site open the Kurdila Club join page. The Kurdila Club app has its own policy: Kurdila Club Privacy.
What we do not collect
You can browse the menu without giving a name or phone number. We do not use advertising cookies. We do not use analytics cookies. We do not read your device location.
Kurdila Club
Club in the menu opens the join form at kurdila.com/club-join.html. The form asks for your name, mobile number, gender, and an optional birthday, then sends them to Kurdila Club at club.kurdila.com. This website does not keep a copy. The printed QR in the café still opens club.kurdila.com/join, which the Club service handles. We do not put you in a group chat.
Students who want the daytime rate open “I'm a student” in the footer of that page, then enter a student card number and upload a photo of the card (JPEG, PNG, HEIC, WebP, GIF, or PDF, up to 8 MB). The browser sends the number and the photo to Kurdila Club at club.kurdila.com. This website does not keep a copy. Club staff check it at the till before a discount applies. We do not use it for ads.

Information stored in your browser
A few things may be saved on your own device, so the site works as you left it:
- Language. If you choose a language, that choice can be stored in your browser (localStorage). The same choice is used on the main site and on this page.
- Prayer times. Today’s prayer times for Slemani can be cached in your browser so the times load quickly. This cache is not a profile of you. It is not sent to us.
- Pages for offline use. The site can store a copy of Kurdila pages in your browser (a service worker) so the menu still opens if the connection drops.
You can clear this by clearing site data in your browser settings.
Prayer times
Prayer times on the Find Us section are for Slemani. They are fetched from the Aladhan API using the café’s coordinates in Sulaymaniyah, not your location. We do not request GPS permission and we do not store where you are.
Map
The map shows Kurdila at Baxtiari, Sulaymaniyah. It is drawn with Leaflet and map tiles from OpenStreetMap. Opening that section loads map images from OpenStreetMap’s servers.
Buttons such as book the private room, reserve a table, catering, PS5, or careers open WhatsApp with a short message template. If you send that message, it goes to our café WhatsApp. What you write there (for example your name, phone, date, and number of guests) is handled in WhatsApp, not stored in a database on kurdila.com.
WhatsApp is provided by Meta. Their rules apply to that conversation. We use those messages only to reply: a booking, a catering request, or a job application.
Hosting
kurdila.com is hosted by Vercel. Like most hosts, Vercel may process technical logs (such as IP address, browser, and pages requested) in order to deliver the site and keep it secure. We do not use those logs to build a marketing profile of you.
How we use information
- To show the menu, the house, opening hours, prayer times for Slemani, and the map
- To remember language on your device, if you set it
- To receive WhatsApp messages you choose to send, and to answer them
- To pass Club join details you submit on to Kurdila Club. This site does not store that form
- To keep the website working
Cookies and similar technologies
We do not set advertising cookies. We do not run a cookie-consent banner, because we do not use optional analytics cookies.
What we do use is local storage in your browser, as described above, and a service worker that can cache Kurdila pages. Third-party tools (fonts, the map, prayer times) may set their own cookies or logs when their files load. You can block or clear these in your browser.

Data security
The website is served over HTTPS. No method of sending information over the internet is perfectly secure. We keep only what the site needs to run, as set out here.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold, to ask for correction or deletion, or to object to how it is used. This website does not keep a customer login. If you joined Kurdila Club, or wrote to us on WhatsApp, you can ask us in the café, on WhatsApp, or through the Club app to delete or correct what you sent.
You can clear language, prayer-time cache, and stored pages in your browser at any time.
Children
This website is a café menu for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through kurdila.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
